At the heart of our problems with other people are often conflicts in values. We may value different things, or, we may value the same thing and act on it differently. It can be hard to understand others if we don’t understand our own filter- the lens of our personal values and beliefs that shape how we view the world around us.
By clarifying our lens, we can better suspend judgement of ourselves and others. You can work on how you express your values, and better influence the relationship you have with yourself and others. Doing so also influences how you’re fostering an engaged culture within your organization.
